I had another wonderful photoshoot last week with the amazing and talented Geoff Larkin. I was very excited when he proposed the idea of doing a Red Riding Hood themed shoot, as it is my absolute favourite Fairy Tale (I am a bit of a fairy tale nerd). I have done a number of RRH shoots before, but I could not turn down doing another one, especially since I have two self made red capes to choose from! We did most of the shoot with my long velveteen cape and a few shots at the end in my short brocade cape. We had a lot of fun playing around with some long exposure shots, some different lighting techniques as well as working with a very hyper dog! Enjoy my stroll through the woods to Grandmas house!

This past weekend my friends from Peepshow TO and I put on our best cosplays and strutted our stuff at one of the biggest Nerd Conventions in North America: FAN EXPO! Fan Expo brings together fans of Comics, Sci-Fi, Anime, Horror and Gaming for a weekend of geeky fun. The Peepshowers had a booth in the Horror section of the con and spent most of our time advertising our next show Garters of the Galaxy: A Marvel Inspired Burlesque. We had a blast chatting up con goers and posing for photos in cosplay.
This year I really over extended myself by attempting to do 2 brand new cosplays for the con. On Friday the Peepshow crew did a Sparkly X-Men Group cosplay in which I portrayed the White Queen Emma Frost. For the big day, Saturday, we did another group cosplay. This time it was the DC Bombshells, which is a set of female DC characters as 1940s pinup girls. For this group I did Supergirl, which was such fun to make and to wear. On the final day I decided to wear an old favourite, my Batwoman burlesque cosplay. Overall the highlight of the weekend was definitely getting to meet the Queen of Cosplay herself; Yaya Han! Yaya is such an inspiration for me as a cosplayer. Her costumes are flawless and she really embodies each character she portrays.
Please enjoy a few of my photos from this year’s Fan Expo…

As you can see from the poster below I will be performing as the icy X-Men classic character Emma Frost. This show is going to be absolutely out of this world and I know you will not want to miss it!

Last weekend I had a wonderful time exploring the insanity that is Atomic Lollipop which took place at the Ontario Science Centre! For those who don’t know what A Pop is, it is a convention that brings together cosplayers, ravers, nerds, gamers, larpers, lolita fashionistas, celebrity guests and so much more. It’s really hard to describe what exactly A Pop is, so I’m going to let this video explain…
Personally, I had a great time going to panels about Gender, LGBT comics, Burlesque, Crossplay and Lolita fashion, seeing performances from Pizza Underground, Illuminair Entertainment and Boylesque TO, performing for Peepshow TO, checking out the amazing vendors, participating in a lightsaber battle and so much more! I had a blast this past saturday at the Peepshow TO Late Night Toon Tease Nerdlesque show!! Performers stripped as their favourite adult cartoon characters such as Leela from Futurama, Jane Lane from Daria, Gimpy from Undergrads, Molotov Cocktease from Venture Brothers and so many more. The show was amazing, with so many creative costumes, acts and song choices. The stage, which was set with old school televisions, created such a lovely atmosphere to witness these cartoon characters coming to life. Congrats to Peepshow TO on another wonderful show!

On Sunday, my best gal pals and I ventured to the world of Westeros at the Game of Thrones Exhibit!
As a cosplayer and a costume lover I absolutely adore getting to see costumes from television and film up close. The costumes from Game of Thrones are especially exciting because they are not only worn by characters I love, but there is also so much detail you miss when viewing the show. These costumes are so beautifully created, whether it’s the rich textured and embroidered outfits of the royals or the muddy, worn and ragged clothing of those traveling through rough terrain. I took a lot of photos from this exhibit to share with you!

I am so excited to be part of the Peepshow Clipshow this coming Saturday May 3rd at the Drake Underground in Toronto! For those who don’t know, PeepshowTO is one of the best Nerdlesque troupes and regularly puts on sold-out shows with themes like Marvelesque, Tarantino Tease and Apocalust. The Peepshow Clipshow is going to be a compilation of some of the best acts from past shows. I will be performing as Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones. You won’t want to miss this event, seriously, I highly recommend getting tickets in advance because it’s very likely that this show will sell out!
A few weeks ago I was so lucky to perform in the Nerdlesque Festival in New York city as the vibrant superhero Batwoman. Not Batgirl… Batwoman. I also performed this act at Peepshow TO’s Nude 52 show last October. I thought I would share some of the photos from these events of the epic costume I put together for this act. This is another example of Burlesque Cosplay, where slight modifications are made to help with the removal of each item. Instead of having one full bodysuit I decided to cut out the thighs and put in garters. I also made the boots into bootcovers that are removed like stockings with a simple nude dance shoe underneath. The most fantastic part of this costume though is the cape! This thing is a monster that stretches past my reach and has dowels sewn in to help me hold it up. But my absolute favourite part of the costume in my amazing mask which is leather and was made for me by the brilliant leatherworker and costume designer Adam Smith! I love the way this costume turned out and I have found each time I wear it that there are a lot of Batwoman fans out there that appreciate the outcome of my effort and love seeing this fierce, Jewish, lesbian badass hero come to life!

Well, I had a whirlwind trip to NYC last week with some of my burlesque peeps for the Nerdlesque Festival! I left on Wednesday morning and returned very early Saturday. Even though I wasn’t in New York for long I managed to pack in a lot of adventures, take a look…
Myself, Betty Quirk and Sevvy Skellington were representing PeepshowTO!The first thing we did in NY was find some pizza!Yum yum!I wandered off on my own to find Mood! I’m so excited to make some new outfits with the fabrics I got there. Stay tuned…I even got to meet Swatch! In the evening we went to Cafe Un Deux Trois and the food was to die for… or kill for….Then it was time for Hedwig and the Angry Inch, starring Neil Patrick Harris! We may or may not have stalked NPH!While wandering around Time Square we found a familiar face in Time Out magazine! Our very own Zilly Lilly!By the way, the weather was so sunny and warm we didn’t even need jackets! On Thursday morning we met up with some of our fellow Toronto Nerdlesquers for brunch in Brooklyn! Zilly Lilly, Betty Quirk, Loretta Jean, Sevvy Skellington, Helen of Tronna and me!I had these delicious vegan, red velvet pancakes! Then we stopped by the store Evolution to look at skulls, taxidermy and other wonderfully weird items.I even picked up some Mermaid supplies…Friday was the day of the show, so we didn’t do a whole lot, but we did eat a whole lot of vegan doughnuts! And Leelando showed up!All decked out in his Rogue outfit…Backstage at the show with Betty Quirk, about to make our NY debut!Love that Rogue hair!Pikachu Sevvy and Gambit Betty!Leelando and Betty Quirk killed it with their Rogue and Gambit act!I had a blast doing my Batwoman act!
I am so proud to have performed at the Nerdlesque Festival! I never could have imagined that one day I would be doing burlesque for a screaming audience in New York City. It’s definitely an experience I will never forget!
