I have always had a great love of fashion and style. As a child my favourite thing to do was to play dress up. I would wrap myself in scarves, adorn my head with a fancy hat, paint my mother’s lipstick on my lips, cheeks and eyelids and prance around the house. Eventually that passion blossomed into a mature form and I began to use my style as a form of self expression. Being a shy person, fashion has always been my way of communicating who I am non-verbally.
I don’t remember the exact moment when I became aware of Dita Von Teese, but I do recall as a teenager saving every image of I could find of her. Lusting after her sparkle encrusted corsets and lace gowns. The hats, the gloves, the feathers, the red lipstick! She was the epitome of high fashion and good taste to me. Even more than her burlesque presence, it was her style sensibility that attracted me to Dita. In Dita I saw the ability to not only stand out through fashion, but to do so in the most elegant way.
Dita Von Teese has greatly influenced me in my personal style, from hair and makeup to clothes and accessories. Dita is the modern incarnation of the vintage pinups who I have always adored. When I see her in performance I am struck not by her dance or acting abilities, but by her style and grace, and I look at her as if a beautiful painting has come to life. She may not be revolutionary in her technique but she is highly skilled in her presentation. Dita brings to life the glamourous feel of previous era.
I was so lucky to get the chance to meet my fashion idol last weekend as she graced Toronto with her presence for a live show at the Phoenix and a book signing at Rosie the Rebel. I was happy to find that this person who has helped to shape and influence me so much was just as lovely as I imagined. Dita smiled sweetly and signed her photograph as I blushed and stared at her perfectly coiffed hair. I hope to have the opportunity to see Dita again on stage one day, but for now the memories of this very special day will live on in my mind.
I have been such a busy lady recently and have been focusing way more energy on photography than modelling. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to receive some new/old photos from shoot I did way back in 2o14. Michael Terry of DWS took these amazing photos of me in this David Bowie themed room. Enjoy!

Sam and Reddy are two fun-loving, fabulous ladies with fierce minds to match!
On top of being a superbly stylish woman, Sam is also a PHD student, social worker and artist. Her series of illustrations called Saucy Nüdles celebrates diverse body types and challenges heteronormative standards of beauty and her blog Braced explores her personal journey through life with a physical disability. In her spare time Sam is also co-editing a book on fatness and motherhood.
Reddy is hilarious lady with an unending supply of silliness and light-hearted energy. She is a comedian and the MC for Nerd Girl Burlesque and can be seen once a month on stage hosting Tassels and Tabletops. Reddy is truly the life of the party and always puts a smile on my face.

Leelando Calrissian is flaunting his feminine side with this week’s flirtatious photoset. Bringing Bettie Page realness, this vintage-loving vixen is tight laced, tucked and totally in control. Looks like man-candy, Matt Muir, needs a little lesson in discipline from Mistress Leelando.
You can catch drag/burlesque beauty Leelando at Spielberg-lesque on March 5th at the Great Hall in Toronto. Click here to purchase tickets to this Peepshow TO production.

2015 was a spectacular year for me! I went to New York City, Orlando, Montreal and Detroit. I performed in the Girlesque Expo, the Toronto Burlesque Festival and Pride Toronto. I got three new tattoos including a BFF tattoo with Betty Quirk. I watched one of my best friends get married. I launched Dolly Shots Photography. But most importantly I had a blast doing all these things with my fabulous friends.
The theme of this year for me was Girl Power! I continue to surround myself with the smartest, funniest and coolest group of gals who are constantly inspiring me. They are loving and supportive and always there to give advice, encouragement or share a cute cat photo! I feel so lucky and blessed to have these women in my life.
I have big plans ahead for next year! Stay tuned for more fabulousness in 2016!

2015 has been a year of new ventures and creative exploration for me. Launching Dolly Shots has been such a wonderful way for me to explore portrait photography and share my passion with the help of my beautiful friends who have modeled for me. While I know that I still have so much to learn I am happy with the images I have been able to put out so far. Happier still to see how much joy it brings my models when they receive their finished photos!
Recently I decided to take my creative vision to the next level and organize a photoshoot with a specific theme that has always captivated me. I gathered some gorgeous gals who also wanted to explore this theme and over the next few months you will see the fruits of this labour.
Bringing together a 1960s aesthetic, Russ Meyer influence and playful whimsy with a splash of vodka, I would like to present my Valley of the Dolly Shots Gals. Stay tuned in 2016 for more photos of these buxom bombshells…
