Have you ever seen a Mermaid in a bathtub? Now you have!
I was absolutely thrilled when the delightful miss Arra Kiss asked me to shoot her mermaid look in my claw foot tub! And even more thrilling is to see the finished photos! I hope you enjoy!
Last year I had 40 shoots altogether and this year my total was 55! My busiest month was January with 12 photoshoots, including my “I Love Me” Valentine’s Day photoshoot event. I had some beautiful partnerships with local businesses including Gigi’s House of Frills, Doll Factory by Damzels, PeepshowTO and Hot Shots Chocolate.
Earlier this year I was thrilled to be asked to do an interview and be featured in feminist magazine Rebelle Zine! This was my first time being published in a magazine and for my work to be celebrated in such a way. It was truly an honour, and if you are interested in reading the article it is available online here.
Another exciting moment was the Pinup Photo Frolic I went to in Las Vegas as part of the Burlesque Hall of Fame Weekender. It was my first time going as a photographer and I had such a lovely time and met so many gorgeous people at that event!
My biggest achievement this year was the production of my first commercial for Dolly Shots! My incredible production team of Charlie Quinn and Robin Blanchard helped bring my vision to life by showing off my studio space, my business and me!
I am so grateful to all the wonderful people I have worked with this year and I am excited to see what’s next!
My beautiful friend Henrietta VIII is back this week with a Disney inspired ensemble. Her Little Mermaid dress was made by me out of an old set of bedsheets. Her amazing mermaid mini mouse ears are from Disneyland where her and her hubby honeymooned.
Please enjoy this under the sea set with Henrietta VIII!

This past weekend my friends from Peepshow TO and I put on our best cosplays and strutted our stuff at one of the biggest Nerd Conventions in North America: FAN EXPO! Fan Expo brings together fans of Comics, Sci-Fi, Anime, Horror and Gaming for a weekend of geeky fun. The Peepshowers had a booth in the Horror section of the con and spent most of our time advertising our next show Garters of the Galaxy: A Marvel Inspired Burlesque. We had a blast chatting up con goers and posing for photos in cosplay.
This year I really over extended myself by attempting to do 2 brand new cosplays for the con. On Friday the Peepshow crew did a Sparkly X-Men Group cosplay in which I portrayed the White Queen Emma Frost. For the big day, Saturday, we did another group cosplay. This time it was the DC Bombshells, which is a set of female DC characters as 1940s pinup girls. For this group I did Supergirl, which was such fun to make and to wear. On the final day I decided to wear an old favourite, my Batwoman burlesque cosplay. Overall the highlight of the weekend was definitely getting to meet the Queen of Cosplay herself; Yaya Han! Yaya is such an inspiration for me as a cosplayer. Her costumes are flawless and she really embodies each character she portrays.
Please enjoy a few of my photos from this year’s Fan Expo…

This past weekend I had an absolutely fabulous time celebrating World Pride in Toronto!
As an openly bisexual woman it is so important to me to celebrate Pride and show my support as a member of the LGBT community. I feel empowered being a part of such a humongous group of not just Lesbian, Gay, Bi, and Trans people, but also all the weirdos, freaks, and artistic creative types like myself who were celebrating. It makes me feel like I am part of a much bigger community when I see such vast crowds of like-minded people declaring that they are proud to be who they are. I was so happy that Toronto got to be the host for World Pride 2014 and I feel lucky to live in this great city where I do feel safe to be openly, genuinely ME!
The party started on Thursday evening. I lined up early and got into the Starry Night event at the 519 Green Space where I had the pleasure of seeing Ru Paul’s Drag Race’s top 4 Queens from this season, Darienne Lake, Courtney Act, Adore Delano and Bianca Del Rio, doing their thing on stage. On Friday night I joined my friends at Exicted Mental State (aka EMS), the Toronto Rocky Horror cast, at their pride show. The main event was the parade on Sunday, in which I strutted the parade route in my new self-made mermaid ensemble!

After 3 sittings and 10 hours my beautiful mermaid tattoo from Suspiria is finally complete! It was a long process but totally worth it. I am so happy with how it turned out and I love looking down at my leg and seeing my beautiful mermaid. This tattoo for me symbolizes where I am at this moment. I am going through a lot of changes in my life right now and beginning a new chapter and I love that this gorgeous creation is the marker of that change for me. I thought I would share some start-to-finish photos of the process of getting this tattoo. We made a lot of subtle changes between the original sketch and the final completed tat and it has been really fun watching it grow and change. I cannot thank the amazing Suspiria enough for gracing me with this beauty.
After 5 more painstaking hours at the tattoo shop my beautiful mermaid is almost complete! Thanks again to the wickedly talented Suspiria for putting this ink on my body. I’m so in love with her! Anyone have a good suggestion for a name?
I had been planning on getting this tattoo for a very long time and finally the time seemed right and things fell into place with my artist. The amazingly talented Suspiria recently returned to Toronto and her style was exactly what I was looking for. I sat through 4 hours of tattooing on Sunday and got the outline and part of the colour done. It will probably be at least another 4 hours before this baby is done. Here are some shots of me getting tattooed and how my tat is looking so far…
