I have something a little bit different and a little strange for you this week! My burlesque buddy Dr. Orifice and I recently shot this set of photos of him as Nikola Tesla, from one of his signature burlesque acts. Dr. Orifice is new to our Toronto Burlesque scene but is already making waves with his seductive yet absolutely ridiculous style. I’m so proud to share this set of photos of my fabulously fashionable friend Sam, for whom I am the personal dress designer. I love collaborating with Sam and adding to her fun, whimsical dress collection. For this ensemble we found the perfect co-ordinating fabrics of both image and text dinosaurs. Not only does Betty have a killer, colourful look, this Nerdlesque performer and producer has a style all her own when it comes to Burlesque. She is the co-producer of Peepshow TO, in which she has brought together comedy, pop culture and striptease in a series of spectacularly successful shows. And after a short hiatus Peepshow TO is back in action with their latest show Super Smash Bras: A Nintendo Inspired Burlesque. I had the pleasure of performing at Kitty Night’s Midsummer Night’s Dream show on August 15th. It was a wonderful evening of dreamy burlesque. I performed my Sugar Baby routine in a sugary, sparkly, pale pink robe which I made. My head was adorned with a lovely bird fascinator from Featherband. Burlesque babe and hula-hooper extraordinaire Rubie Magnitude is the model of the week! Donning a gorgeous red lingerie set from Secrets From Your Sister, the lovely Rubie looks sensual and sweet. Rubie was a smash hit this past weekend at the Toronto Burlesque Festival, where she debuted a new act in which she multi-tasked hula hooping and feather fan dancing!
