This week I had the pleasure of testing out a brand new product at Gigi’s House of Frills in Toronto. Gigi’s is the best spot in our city to find vintage and repro-vintage lingerie and loungewear. They currently carry a lovely selection of seamed stockings from What Katie Did in a variety of sizes and colours. Brand new for us plus sized people are the Curve stockings from WKD which are specially designed for bodies that are size 18-24 with 28″-36″ thighs.
As a plus size woman it has always been a struggle for me to find clothing and lingerie made for my body type. Seamed stockings and thigh highs were always particularly challenging as the band needs to fit snuggly around the thigh without being so tight as to cause discomfort. I have gotten away with wearing the Medium/Large size in this brand before, but never found them very comfortable. The Curve size is the perfect solution to this problem and I found they had plenty of stretch to them, particularly in the band. My thighs come in just under the recommended sizing at 27″ and I could feel that there was even a little extra room in them and they would fit even better on a body larger than mine.
It is so refreshing to see more options out there for curvy folks like myself and I’m thrilled that Gigi’s House of Frills, which has always had an amazing selection of plus size items, is focused on bringing in even more options for us! Thank you Gigi’s!!
